“I Wish I Knew Back Then”
Temika Moore
From the EP The End of Me
“I Wish I Knew Back Then” is sophisticated, soulful, and well-choreographed singing from Washington DC’s Temika Moore, who sounds every bit a vocal veteran as she evokes a lower-register Whitney Houston in her dramatic reading of the lyrics and impromptu flights into wordless top notes.
Moore looks back over her life, reflecting on the “woulda-coulda-shoudas” as she recognizes “the God in me” and what might have been better had she paid attention to it.  Without regrets or complaining, Moore presses forward, knowing you can’t turn back time, but you don’t have to waste what time you have left, either. The production is robust and matches Moore note for note in its ebullience.

Released last month, The End of Me is Temika Moore’s first project in five years.  She has been featured on BET Jazz/Centric TV and her EP is garnering airplay on terrestrial and satellite radio here and abroad.
