“Speak to the Mountain”
Angela Moss Poole
141st Lane Music/DarkChild Gospel (2022)

By Robert M. Marovich

An aggressive and hard-charging rhythm section supports Angela Moss Poole on “Speak to the Mountain,” a song about having the faith to do the impossible. That includes overcoming the figurative mountains in one’s life, whether they be a job loss or bad report from the doctor. Everybody has mountains, Angela sings in a confident tone, but faith has the power to move them.

Angela co-wrote the song, based on Mark 11:23, with Sharvis Whitted. In-demand producer Fred “Uncle Freddie” Jerkins and Raymond Darius Jackson give the song whiz-bang production, with hyperactive bass and drums bouncing off the walls of the studio and around the singer from start to finish.

It’s from the self-titled album that included Angela’s previous single, “My Help,” featuring Micah Stampley.
