“Remember Me”
Stanley Brown feat. Jessica Reedy
ROC Nation (release date: August 7, 2026)
By Robert M. Marovich
This dramatically sung conversation between Stanley Brown and Jessica Reedy (as the Voice of God) is distinctive in gospel music today due to its recitative-like arrangement and its shift from a minor to major key.
Like the rising of the sun, the musical atmosphere brightens as Brown’s prayer gets answered by Reedy and a choir enters with the hopeful message Brown needs to clear his troubled mind. The song ends abruptly but could have continued beyond its three-and-a-half minute length. It’s some of the best singing I’ve heard from Jessica Reedy since her marvelous 2011 debut album From the Heart.
