“The Voice I Have Now”
Sandi Patty
Stylos Records (release date: August 21, 2026)
By Robert M. Marovich
Sandi Patty is one of the most accomplished CCM artists of all time. Rather than on linger on the good old days and bemoan the natural aging of her voice, Sandi looks back on “The Voice I Have Now” with a smiling satisfaction on a career well spent. That career includes five Grammy Awards and more Dove Awards than you can shake a stick at.
At age 70, she has nothing left to prove. The voice of The Voice has a different strength now, one brimming with wisdom and bravery.
Accompanied only by piano, Sandi gives a spot-on rendering of Joel Lindsey’s song that captures the poignancy of every older person wondering if the best years are past and gone. According to Sandi, whose next album drops in February 2027, the golden years are golden. Earned. “The Voice I Have Now” ranks among the finest recorded CCM performances this year.
