Both Jones and Reid have plenty of trad cred. Jones is a pastor and the son of gospel singer Jeannette Robinson Jones and the late Rev. Billy Jones. Reid is the longstanding and aerobic directress of the Fellowship Missionary Baptist Church choir, where her brother, Rev. Dr. Clay Evans, is founder and senior pastor. The Traditional Gospel Choir, in fact, grew out of a Reunion Choir of Fellowship singers that assembled to fete Reid on her 75th birthday in 2005.
