The Spin Awards Launches Tracy Morgan Excellence in Broadcasting Award

Washington, DC – September 2, 2025 – The Spin Awards, the first and only organization to honor those who spin the gospel, has announced the creation of the Tracy Morgan Excellence in Broadcasting Award, a new annual Legacy Award honoring professionals in Christian Gospel radio whose careers demonstrate excellence, longevity, and faith-driven leadership.

The honor will debut at The Spin Awards ceremony on October 25, 2025, in Atlanta, Georgia, carrying the name of nationally syndicated radio announcer and media trailblazer Tracy Morgan.

The award will spotlight broadcasters whose dedication, professionalism, and impact reflect Morgan’s decades-long career and contributions to the industry and community. The first recipient of the award will be announced live at the October ceremony.

Tracy Morgan, a nationally syndicated broadcaster and multi–Stellar Award winner, has spent more than 30 years uplifting Gospel audiences with her signature voice and spirit-filled programming. She has been inducted into both the Broadcasters Hall of Fame (Akron, OH) and the Columbia School of Broadcasting Hall of Fame.

“It’s truly humbling. I never set out to gain recognition—my heart has always been focused on serving, encouraging, and sharing the gospel through radio,” said Tracy Morgan. “To now have an award named in my honor… it’s more than I ever imagined. It tells me the work I’ve done in the past has some lasting influence. And for that, I’m grateful. Above all, I give God the glory for every opportunity to reach hearts through radio.”

Morgan is no stranger to The Spin Awards, having won multiple honors throughout her career. In 2022, she was inducted into the Spin Awards Hall of Fame, becoming the first woman to receive the recognition.

Since its founding in 2017, The Spin Awards has united radio, artists, media, and other industry professionals in an appealing setting to celebrate the achievements of radio within the Christian Gospel industry.

The Tracy Morgan Excellence in Broadcasting Award will make its debut during The Spin Awards Weekend Experience, taking place October 23–25, 2025, in the Atlanta, Georgia area. The three-day experience includes two full days of free events at the Embassy Suites Atlanta Airport Hotel, followed by the main red carpet awards show on Saturday, October 25 at the prestigious Aurora Theatre in Lawrenceville, Georgia.
