“Considering All”
Michelle Lang & Still Water (2012)
On their new single, “Considering All,” Michelle Lang & Still Water sing that if they “had ten thousand days, [it] still wouldn’t be enough to say” how amazing God is.
But as the traditional singers used to say, “this record doesn’t allow me much time.” So if the Seattle, Washingtonensemble doesn’t have twenty-seven years for consecutive praise, they do have four and a half minutes, which they fill with smooth, relaxed, mid-tempo grooving and simple, repetitive expressions of gratitude.
Formed in 2000, Michelle Lang & Still Water is one of the most recognized urban contemporary gospel groups in the Pacific Northwest.  Their sound blends the gospel enthusiasm of the Winans with the lush pop harmonies of the Corrs.  “Considering All” is more mellow than the group’s gospel metal single, “Twisted,” which I prefer for its edginess and self-proclaimed swagger.
