“For My Good”

Earnest Pugh feat. Beverly Crawford

From the Black Smoke Music Worldwide CD Earnestly Yours
“Gospel’s Leading Man” Earnest Pugh and the electrifying Beverly Crawford reflect on being “a victor and not a victim.”

On the chic Thomas Whitfield-inspired gospel waltz, “For My Good,” Pugh and his background singers tee up the lesson, and Crawford drives it 400 yards to the green.

“I wrote this song after going through some unmanageable disappointments in my life and career with church folk,” Pugh said. “I felt betrayed, rejected, and hated by people I thought really loved and cared for me. One day, God allowed me to step back and look at the situation and see it from His perspective, which was that of a victor and not a victim. He assured me that the situation would work together for my good.

“I knew [JDI Records artist] Beverly Crawford could relate to my pain and would be the perfect artist to help me deliver the song.”
