Kathy Taylor & the Windsor Village
United Methodist Church Mass Choir
By Bob Marovich for The Black Gospel Blog
In 2010, TBGB wrote that Kathy Taylor has a “big, traditional-sounding voice hewn straight out of the rafters of the old wooden church.” That is as true today as it was then.
“Give Him Praise” is a chance to hear Taylor in action as Minister of Music at the 15,000-member Windsor Village United Methodist Church, under the leadership of Pastor Kirbyjon H. Caldwell. With a resonance as big as the 15,000 member Houston church, the full-voiced Windsor Village Mass Choir and Taylor’s shouting and squalling combine to evoke the extroverted mass choir of the 1980s.
