“Hold to God’s Unchanging Hand”
Eric Carrington
Divine Line Records (2012)
Eric Carrington of Houston, Texas, goes Deep South on “Hold to God’s Unchanging Hand,” a quartet-fired song about making it through the “valley experiences” of life.
Carrington; his father, Pastor James Carrington of Willing Workers Baptist Church; and the Mighty Clouds of Joy’s Joe Ligon are a triumvirate of gritty quartet leads as they each encourage listeners to hold on to God’s unchanging hand.  A bevy of background vocalists support them.
Although Carrington is not known for recording traditional selections, this one sure enough is.
