“I Need You Now”
Bishop Leonard S. Scott
From the forthcoming CD
Bishop Leonard Scott Presents My Worship Experience
(in stores September 14, 2010)

Tyscot’s Bishop Leonard Scott assembles a team of top talent to help him deliver this anthemic plea to God for immediate intercession.
Lil’ Mo, Phillip Bryant, Damita Haddon and Lamar Campbell are among the artists who contribute their voices to the song, which in its heartwarming simplicity is motion picture soundtrack-ready.
Bonus: by changing the “I” to “We,” church choirs can transform the anthem into a communal cry for help in the midst of life’s storms.

I love Lamar Campbell. And Dr Leonard Scott knows how to bring it together.
Can’t wait to hear this team of singers….Lamar Campbell was one of the worship leaders at my church in Houston – Windsor Village….and it was always an awesome worship experience at this kingdom building church….I have no doubt that anything that Lamar is involved in will be an anointed experience….
Might it encourage people of all races to enjoy Gospel music if it’s referred to in some way other than “Black” Gospel music? As a Caucasion person it feels exclusive and separatist to declare the music/blog as being “Black.” The rest of us might want to be included as well. Maybe next time, eh?
Hi, Anonymous — it is a tricky thing and I understand your concern. In fact, the gospel music industry rarely describes itself as “black,” at least not anymore. Early on, I thought of naming this the Gospel Blog. However, I have chosen to keep it as it is so nobody who sees my photo gets the mistaken impression that I a) write about white (Christian, Southern) gospel artists or b) am lecturing on the gospel as Biblical teaching. This probably doesn’t address your concerns, but at least it gives you the reason why I have kept “black gospel” in the title.
