Philadelphia native and fiery gospel singer Tamika Patton sings the stuffing out of this double-time church wrecker that encourages those who “stumble and fall” to keep going, “lean on the Lord,” and “stand on His promises.” Pastor Korey Mickie interjects with impassioned evangelism.
The single, written by Patton and the late Eric B. Franks, also of the City of Brotherly Love, was produced and arranged by Ramon Shelton. It moves with the motive force of praise break music, which, for many, might just be what it turns out to be.
A singer, songwriter, and actor (she portrayed Mahalia Jackson on stage), Patton was second runner-up in the first-ever Stellar Awards Independent Artist Showcase in Las Vegas in 2018. She was the only soloist to place among the finalists. JGM readers might be familiar with her song with Minister Earl Bynum, “Grace and Mercy,” a July 2017 Pick of the Week.
