Marc Lindy, a gospel announcer in Vancouver, informed TBGB today that Lyndon Baines Jones (Dixie Hummingbirds guitarist/vocalist) contacted him with the sad news that Mrs. Louise Tucker passed on Tuesday January 5, 2010 following a heart attack.
Louise was married to the late Ira Tucker, iconic lead singer of the Dixie Hummingbirds.
Mr. Ira Tucker, Jr. was kind to provide the photo below. Please keep him and the rest of the Tucker family in your prayers.
Marc added that Ira and Louise were deeply devoted to each other and married for sixty-four years. They are survived by three children: Ira Jr., Sundray, and Lynda; five grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; and six great-great grandchildren.
Ira and Louise are now reunited for all eternity.
