Chicago, IL — Jubilee Showcase is celebrating its 50th anniversary.

Many who lived in Chicago during the 60s, 70s, and 80s recall watching the popular Sunday morning program while preparing for Sunday school or morning worship service. For many, it was “church before church.” From 1963 until 1984, the show featured inspiring performances by The Barrett Sisters, Jessy Dixon, Albertina Walker, the Staple Singers, and many other gospel luminaries.

Jubilee Showcase will celebrate this milestone achievement during a PBS (Public Broadcasting System) Pledge Show. The show will air live on WTTW (Channel 11) next Thursday, October 10, at 9 p.m. CST, and in December, it will be shown on PBS stations throughout the United States.

Actor/singer/minister Clifton Davis will host the program. Check out the video for more information about Jubilee Showcase.
