T’Juan
Emtro Records
In 2009, when TBGB first caught up with T’Juan, he was a Christian hip hop artist recording for the No Compromise label. He was best known for his single, “Crank Dat Church Boy,” and for delivering what he referred to as “urban kingdom” music.
Now that No Compromise and Emtro have joined forces, T’Juan is a melodic gospel crooner like Emtro’s Troy Sneed.
“Pray For Me,” featuring Sneed and a chorus of background vocalists, is a rhythmic ballad and T’Juan’s latest single, following on the heels of the equally smooth groove, “Made.” T’Juan sounds totally different from his hip hop days. On the other hand, the lyrical focus on self-inflicted struggles that need Jesus’s intervention evoke the urban kingdom days thematically.
