Violinist Kersten Stevens, gospel’s answer to Jean-Luc Ponty, ran a successful campaign to fund her latest CD, Inspire Me.
She has released a couple of preview tracks, one of which is “Right Where You Are.” It is a gentle, acoustic worship ballad on which Stevens interjects seductive and semi-classical violin runs to complement the lovely, agile singing of Alicia Olatuja. Delicate as a slowly-rippling waterfall.
The song concludes with a hypnotic and soothing chorus of “Alleluia” that soars in energy. Guaranteed to get arms outstretched and waving.
