Our good friend Ducky in Detroit informed TBGB of the passing of Lawrence Goudy, the long-time manager of the Trumpelettes. She attached the photo below, taken circa 2007:

Alberta Parren (second row)
Lawrence Goudy (front row)
Willie Harris ( front row)
Neta Westbrook (next to Alberta)
Victoria Hawkins-Westbrook (third row)
Big Joe Louis “BJL” (sitting next to Vic)

The Trumpelettes are an awesome group.  Anyone who has ever heard their early sides for Bill and Essie Moss’s Bilesse Records can testify to that.

TBGB offers Mr. Goudy’s family and all of the Trumpelettes its sincerest sympathies.
