Erica Campbell, one-half of the best-selling gospel duo Mary Mary, extends her successful solo career with “Help.” Whereas her heavenly appeal for “A Little More Jesus” was upbeat and bouncy, “Help” is leisurely, dramatic, and soulful.
Christian hip hop artist Lecrae opens the single and offers a rap prayer as Campbell pleads for assistance when “family used to be first / Things getting worse, in my home / My brother is hurt, we need a word / He’s too far gone.” She stretches out her throaty calls for help as if shouting from underneath the wreckage of a fallen building.
