“The Blood Still Works”
Malcolm Williams & Great Faith
From the Malcolm James Music CD In Your Glory (2009)
With its bright up-tempo hand-clapping rhythm, full-throated choir singing, and Ricky Dillard-esque contrapuntal vocal lines, “The Blood Still Works” by Malcolm Williams & Great Faith couldn’t be more Chicagogospel if it had a 312 area code.
“It feels like Sunday morning in here,” the “Church Boy of Gospel” declares as he encourages the various sections of Great Faith to higher heights of thunderous praise over how the blood will never lose its power.  The song is three years old, but it’s timeless and always fun to hear.
