“Turning Around For Me”

VaShawn Mitchell

From the forthcoming EMI Gospel CD Created 4 This
“Turning Around For Me” is rooted firmly in VaShawn Mitchell’s songwriting technique of matching dramatic lyrics with equally dramatic and simple melodies. It is a hushed but intensely-sung ballad of personal and public encouragement.

The background vocalists serve as a Greek chorus, while the listener visualizes Mitchell, alone, in his prayer room, feeling change happening and articulating his gratitude aloud. When he sings, “it won’t always be like this,” the live audience rustles with renewed hope.  It’s their testimony, too.
