“A Friend Unfailing”
Phillip Carter & SOV

An old-school style song, written by Danny McCrimmon, about Jesus as the ultimate BFF.

With a B3 warbling prominently in the foreground, Stellar Award-winning Phillip Carter delivers the worshipful lyrics with prayerful consideration.  The SOV choir enters halfway through to answer Carter’s call and then Rev. Jackie Hawkins’ vocal assist raises the perspiration level further.  A Carol Cymbala-esque denouement closes the song with perfection.

Carter and SOV’s new single is reminiscent of a big, bold, vocally rich GMWA Mass Choir selection.  Glorious, one of the best singles TBGB has heard thus far this year.  Carter describes it best: “This will take you back to when the writing of Gospel Music had to start somewhere and end somewhere else.”
