“He Stepped In”
Wess Morgan feat. Jason Crabb
From Under an Open Heaven, Vol. 2
“He Stepped In” likens God’s involvement in a turbulent life to the calming of the skies and seas.  “Lord, please say ‘Peace! Be still.’  Let the winds and waves obey,” sings Wess Morgan, with the laidback edginess of Fred Hammond.  Jason Crabb contributes his smoky tenor and lofts high notes like flares during the song’s second verse.
The selection takes off during the vamp when the two duet about the storm passing over.  From the easy, loping tempo, it appears the storm has been replaced by a balmy breeze.
