“Anointed Me”
Jai Reed
From the CD Anointed For Purpose
Fontana/TLR Entertainment 2008

Hailing from Pensacola, Florida, former Endurance member Jabial “Jai” Reed released his first solo album, Anointed For Purpose, from whence the single “Anointed Me” comes. The song, which focuses on the realization that your God-given talents are there for a reason, is autobiographical, or at least seems to be. Listen past the hypnotic beats and you’ll hear a singing young man who has a pleasant, versatile, conversational voice ideal for gospel music.

Another album track, “Have I Told You,” written with former Endurance mates Byron Pierce, Edward West, and William Maxwell, also has the capacity to become a gospel radio hit. It’s well written and an even better showcase for Jai’s singing range. All this is to say that Jai Reed is one to watch.
