“Untitled Hymn (Come to Jesus)”
Micah Stampley
From the Motown Gospel CD Love Never Fails (2013)

“Untitled Hymn (Come to Jesus)” may be the quintessential altar call anthem of this generation.

Micah Stampley’s version of Chris Rice’s tender, tear-jerking composition is better than the original, due largely to his ample use of pauses, dynamics, and slowed tempo for emphasis.  The piano work is also exquisite, the combination of which makes this one of the best gospel songs of the year.
