It appears as if, in addition to the smash “I Believe,” Gospel Mix IV has produced yet another hit. This time, it’s “Real True Love” by Keith “Wonderboy” Johnson.
An enthusiast and preservationist of the old time quartet sound, Johnson summons for “Real True Love” the tanginess and grit of Memphis Soul in arrangement and with hard shouting vocals borne straight from the gut.
He preaches that real true love cannot be found on the Internet, in books, or material things: “true love can only come from one place – it starts with Jesus, Mary’s little baby.”
