“Whose Report”
Pastor DeWayne Harvey Presents the Greater Blessings Tabernacle of Praise
From the album The Report of the Lord
(release date: March 2010)

Pastor DeWayne Harvey, called “one of the Renaissance men of contemporary gospel,” serves as musical director for the Praise and Worship Team at the Greater Blessings Tabernacle of Praise in Tallahassee, Florida. He introduced the world to Unrestrained Praise nearly a decade ago and next month will showcase the talents of his praise team.

“Whose Report,” the first single from the new album by Harvey and the Greater Blessings Tabernacle of Praise, is a straight-ahead, vocally aggressive church rouser, the singers and musicians performing at or near mach one. The lead calls out, “Whose report will you believe?“ and the group answers dutifully, “I’ll believe the report of the Lord.” The report heralds the elimination of affliction, disease, depression and other shackles of life.

Female vocalist Anita Edwards wrecks the church with her astonishing lead work.

Unfortunately, the gospel world has been DUPED by Mr. Harvey. This particular song, Who’s Report, was STOLEN from a St. Louis artist, Meaghan Williams and her previously recorded CD, Bless You God. Many of you may have already heard of or heard FROM Ms. Williams. The song in question is “I Made It”. You can find the song on YouTube if you haven’t already purchased the CD (which is available nationally) under that same title and artist.

Sadly, this is what the gospel music business has come to. being conformed to the world by stealing and re-recording copyrighted material and advertising it as your own. I am not judging Mr. Harvey, but as a musician myself, and a child of God FIRST, there’s no way I can, in good conscious, purchase this or ANY more of Mr. Harvey’s CD and I will be removing what I have of his from my collection.

    Disappointed in STL

Maam you have made a valid point, it is about giving God whats due him but in the same right if we are going to be Christ like we cant pick and choose when we want to walk and integrity and when it doesnt matter “in Business be men” the word of the Lord is truth and he honors it. Every artist wants you to be blessed, when the Lord births a song in someone in order for them to get it to the world, I dont believe they would mind sharing, its all about how you handle the situation…and if its not handled correctly you have no integrity… I hear what youre saying. The people will be blessed by that song NO MATTER WHO sings it because its a reminder of his word…but its not ok to do things any kind of way….”Well everybody in the street is killing people, so I will too?” is the same as saying “All artist take and rerecord music without permission…that doesnt make it right… as athourity figures in the kingdom we must lead by example..bump what everyone else is doing…what does Jesus say about it!?

What difference does it make who sung the song first, as long as the gospel gets out! I’ve heard both versions of this song and both are ministering to the Lord. There are so many gospel and contemporary christian songs out now that are nothing but remakes of someone else’s original.

integrity makes the difference, sad to see that so called “saints” agree that you dont have to have any because its kingdom music, so I see why he and other artists do it…..smh

How do you know he stole the song? Maybe he received permission to record it? Actually once a song has been published anyone can redo it as long as they receive a license and give proper credit. We should stop jumping to conclusions.
