From a press release:
Join the Gospel Music Workshop of America in Greensboro of North Carolina, for an exciting, uplifting, and refreshing time as we celebrate the Lord Jesus Christ and Gospel Music in all of its permutations at the Sheraton Four Seasons Hotel from July 9 – 14, 2023.
Our theme this year is “Faith, Family, and Fellowship,” and we have events and activities designed to bring our delegates the best in these areas.
Join our Music Ministry daily as we prepare new music that captures the full range of “Sacred Music” – gospel, praise and worship, hymns/hymn arrangements, spirituals, and anthems. We express our faith by singing across the spectrum in our Mass, Contemporary Adult, Women’s, Men’s, Youth, and Children’s Choirs.
We also have specialty choirs whose repertoire focuses on structured music and songs made famous by our Founder, the late Reverend James Cleveland.
Each morning, we feature some of the greatest preaching voices in our country during The Daily Bread segment. GMWA is also home to the world’s largest “floating university,” offering classes that range from musical performance to the business aspects of the gospel music industry.
In the evenings, gospel artists and aficionados from around the world attend our Nightly Musicals to hear the best choirs minister in song. You haven’t heard singing until you’ve heard the Birmingham Mass Choir, Los Angeles Chapter Choir, and the Detroit Chapter Choir, in addition to the A-list gospel artists who grace the GMWA stage.
This year, we will also feature our liturgical dancers, Contemporary Adult, Youth, Children’s, Men of Promise, and Women of Worship Choirs in a dynamic concert on
Thursday evening. And we go even higher on Friday evening as the incomparable John P. Kee headlines our closing concert!
You don’t want to miss one minute of what the GMWA will present in Greensboro. We are the Convention “Where Everybody Is Somebody.” You’re invited to join us!
