TBGB learned this evening that gospel songwriter, producer, organist, and group leader Melvin Crispell died.  More details will be forthcoming as they are made available.

A Brooklynite by rearing and IMOK Gospel Music recording artist, Crispell fronted the group Testimony and was well respected for his keyboard wizardry.  His songs were performed by artists such as Hezekiah Walker, James Hall, Kim Hinton, and others.
Let’s keep Melvin’s family and friends in our hearts and minds at this time.

Here is Melvin Crispell and Testimony singing “For Me.”
