The Alliance Of Gospel Music Professionals To Host Inaugural Alliance Chairman Honors Awards and Hall Of Fame Ceremony During The 58th Annual Gospel Music Workshop Of America Convention July 13-18 In Montgomery, AL
Norfolk, VA – Music mogul Earl Bynum, Th.D., was appointed the National Chairman of The Alliance of Gospel Music Professionals by Bishop Albert L. Jamison, Sr., and The Board of Directors of The Gospel Music Workshop of America (GMWA) two years ago. The Alliance is an auxiliary of the GMWA, which works to raise proficiency and quality in the Gospel music industry, emphasizing the promotion and advocacy of religious broadcasting globally.
The GMWA will host its 58th Annual Convention in Montgomery, AL, July 13-18. During the convention, The Alliance will hold its sessions and the Inaugural Alliance Chairman Honors Awards Banquet. This historic evening of celebration, remembrance, and legacy will take place on Sunday, July 13, at 4:00 PM at United Christian Church, 1852 Fairview Ave, Prattville, AL 36066.
“With this being my second year as Chairman of The Alliance, I’m honored, alongside our dedicated Board of Directors and phenomenal team, to host our very first Chairman’s Honors Awards,” states Bynum. “Paying tribute to those who shaped Gospel music and the greater music industry is a privilege and a responsibility we do not take lightly.”
The Alliance will induct the first class into The Alliance Hall of Fame, honoring the lives and legacies of Gospel music pioneers who have transitioned but left an indelible mark on the industry and on the Alliance of Gospel Music Professionals, formerly known as the Gospel Announcers Guild (GAG).
The inaugural Alliance Hall of Fame posthumous inductees are Al “The Bishop” Hobbs, Mama Zadella Curtis, Quincy Fielding, Jr., Edna Tatum, John and Vermia Phillips, Bill “The Mailman” Martin, Norma Jean Pender, Melvin Tucker, Donna Creer, Sugar Poindexter, Peppi Hendrix, and Kenny Taylor. In addition, The Alliance will present the first-ever Al “The Bishop” Hobbs Legacy Award to a music industry leader whose life and work reflect the vision, passion, and excellence of this legendary figure.
