“I Am Your Music”
Quianna Crute feat. SouthsidePoet
From the album I Am Your Music (release date: November 4, 2024)
By Robert M. Marovich
Gospel fans will remember Quianna Crute from her 2020 single “Anthem,” featuring Christian hip hop star Canton Jones. Crute, an Atlanta-based but South Carolina-born worship leader, returns with “I Am Your Music.” The single is also the title track of her new album.
This time around, the featured Christian rapper is Crute’s fellow Atlantan, SouthsidePoet. His interlude (on the album version only) gives the thumping bass and dynamic rhythm a brief rest. Before and after, Crute declares her intention to serve as God’s human symphony on earth. After all, she reasons, God gave her the ability to sing and dance, so she should use these gifts to praise him. And she does, and her commanding singing puts the message over.
