“Good To Me”
The Lighthouse Singers
From The Vision Speaks – Live in Natchez, Mississippi (release date: April 3, 2023)

By Robert M. Marovich

The Lighthouse Singers and a chorus of singers team up to deliver deliciously old fashioned gospel quartet singing on “Good To Me.”

The song works from the strutting tempo and the call-and-response between lead singer/quartet and choir to the church-hewn plaudits to the Lord for his manifest blessings, all set to a timeless traditional gospel melody. Then there’s the lead vocalist’s hard singing and Rance Allen-style whoops as well as the testimonials that punctuate the vamp.

As the opening track, “Good To Me” sets the ideal mood to the group’s album, The Vision Speaks – Live in Natchez, Mississippi.
