“The Way You Made Me”
Daphney Hilton
Independent (release date: March 10, 2023)
By Robert M. Marovich
Daphney Hilton’s even-handed delivery on “The Way You Made Me” sells the song.
Make no mistake: Hilton has plenty of power in reserve, and she lets a smidgen of it out toward the end, but essentially holds back to keep the message of living truthfully and faithfully front and center. The song and Hilton’s voice flow like honey.
Originally from Miami, Florida, and now living in Atlanta, Hilton is part of the relatively new Contemporary Adult Division of the Gospel Music Workshop of America and on the board of the Gospel Choice Music Awards.

Wow! Thank you so much for this!!!
Daphney has left her gospel footprint all over everyone she encounters. Her voice soothes your soul. This song is my ringtone and my students hum it and love it. I thank God for the relationship with Ms. Hilton! She has always been an inspiration in my life, forever the good angel on my shoulder. I’m so proud of her and happy that the world is able to benefit from the love that inspires her to sing.
Well said, well deserved
