Detroit Gospel Singer Ernis Hurskin Dies

David Jones informed the Journal of Gospel Music yesterday that Detroit gospel singer Ernis A. Hurskin has died.

Hurskin was one of gospel’s celebrated male soprano singers.  He was a member and lead singer of several nationally-known aggregations, including the (James) Cleveland Singers, the Voices of Tabernacle, the Thomas Whitfield Singers, and Dr. E. LaQuint Weaver & the Hallelujah Singers.

Homegoing services are as follows:
Monday, May 11, 2015
Family Hour: 10:00 a.m.
Funeral:  11 a.m.

Goodwill Community Church
7 Mile and Woodward
Detroit, Michigan
