Pastor Gerald was such an awesome brother to work with. Had a chance to play with him twice when he was in the Washington, DC area back in the 1980’s He was missed. God has another great song writer over in glory. RIP

As of 6/11/2023, I was coming home from work listening to a playlist of a few people and Rev. Gerald Thompson was one I didn’t know but liked. I said, Imma visit his church, but only to know after googling his name, He’s no longer with us. Sorry for the loss of this genius of a singer, & song writer. I’ll continue to listen to my NOW FAVORITE SONG, “God’s Got It!”

    Rest In Peace

Rev. Gerald Thompson was was one of my greatest inspirations. I learned a lot from him. My first time ever docking the doors of a major studio was with Gerald. I did several demos as well as live and studio recordings with this genius. He was very adamant about being on time and playing only what you were asked to play on set. He was definitely a perfectionist and did not play when it came to doing your very best. He’s greatly missed, but his legacy lives in through the many songs he wrote and through the millions of hearts of those who still sing his songs.
