“While I Wait”
Trice Staten

“While I Wait” is a lovingly and delicately sung praise ballad by Chicago’s Trice Staten.  Its Celtic-influenced melody gets gospel heft courtesy of Staten, her background vocalists, and a clever interpolation of “Standing on the Promises” at the conclusion.
Staten said the lyrics were given to her by God one morning.  “Each blessing, breakthrough and miracle is tailor-made specifically for us,” she explained.  “The hard part is learning how to patiently wait for God to give it to us, in His timing.”  Produced by Matt Jones, “While I Wait” is Staten’s debut solo single.  She anticipates releasing her first full-length album in 2014.

Trice Staten has sung behind other Chicago artists such as Todd Dulaney and Anita Wilson, whose own early solo single was featured on TBGB in 2011.
