Javen feat. LaRue Howard
From the Tyscot CD Worship in the Now – Live
P&W artists Javen Campbell and LaRue Howard sing about praising by any means necessary: feet, hands, voice. With “so many blessings,” they argue, the medium doesn’t matter.
The song really belongs to Howard. A former student of vocal performance at Morris Brown College, she weaves a well-honed melismatic gospel counterpoint above, below, and in between Javen and the background vocalists, who revel in stretching the jazz harmonies in their mouths like salt water taffy.
