I say this without the benefit of any research, but it just seems as if there are more African American gospel artists nominated for GMA Dove Awards this year than ever before.  That’s a good thing.
That is also not surprising, given the popularity of Praise & Worship, which blends elements of gospel and CCM, and the multicultural audience for Christian hip hop.
Nevertheless, the following is a list of the gospel artists nominated for this year’s Dove Awards, to be handed out October 15, 2013 (for a complete list of nominees, visit www.doveawards.com).
