A talented singer and respected vocal teacher, Dileesa Hunter of Atlanta released her new single, “I Need You,” last month.  It’s a finger-popping song of love/praise with catchy contemporary provenance.
The magic, however, comes from Hunter’s relaxed, smooth vocals.  At obvious ease with the song’s tempo and mid-range tessitura, Hunter rides the melody the way a rollercoaster car rides the rails.  She navigates every rise and fall with precise and studied improvisation.

Hunter was born in England to British parents and Jamaican grandparents.  A year ago, she became the first winner of the Mary Mary Singing Contest and won a VIP trip to the Essence Music Festival and a meet-and-greet with Mary Mary.  Her husband, Stellar Award-winning producer Kendall Hunter, gives “I Need You” flawless production.
