I was so sorry to hear the news today, passed along from Cherli Montgomery, that Gospel Announcers Guild leader Donna Grady Creer (pictured) and her husband Donald died in a house blaze in Little Rock, Arkansas, early this morning.

Donna was a tireless worker on behalf of gospel music and one of the friendliest personalities you could meet.

She was always kind and supportive of my efforts, and I will miss her terribly.

During my days at Intersound Records and MCG Records, there was always one person who I could count on when traveling who would truly make the sacrifice to help others achieve their dreams. When I moved back to AR to start up the college- Donna was ALWAYS there. Donna, Donna- so unselfish and always representing God’s people and God’s music in the highest regards. Her spirit lives on and Arkansas and the nation is better- Because She Lived.

I met the lovely, elegant and always beautifully coutured and coiffed Lady Donna Creer, in 1994 while working in the Promotions & Mktg. Div. of CGI RECORDS. I traveled to Little Rock, Arkansas to attend the Arkansas GAG Conference. Donna was one of the nicest people you could ever want to meet, and she was the quintessential Hostess, meeting me at the airport, making sure I had everything I needed, introducing me to everyone; and took me to her lovely home to meet her husband, Donald. They were true partners in life, and they will be partners for all eternity in the Kingdom of Heaven. What a tragic loss! Narvelan Coleman; Los Angeles, CA
