“Heaven”
Bishop Neal Roberson & the MacedoniaMass Choir
Broken Chains Entertainment (2013)
Gospel music is chockablock with evocations of the hereafter, from wistful and melancholy to out-and-out celebratory.  Bishop Neal Roberson and Josh Hicks join the mass choir of Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church of Flint, Michigan on a sample of the latter.
In an amped-up version of the familiar Baptist congregational call-and-response melody, “Heaven” contemplates “the beautiful place” where mother and father are waiting.  Roberson, Hicks, and the choir sing so eagerly that the listener is all but ready to die to make the trip.
