“Emmanuel” is a tender Christmas song led by Pastor Glendora Bailey of the World Alive Worship Center, which she and her husband, Pastor Anthony Bailey, founded in January 2007.
Minor key harmonies lend an air of mystery and wonder suitable to the subject, the birth of Jesus Christ and what that birth meant to the world. Son Anthony “Chip” Bailey II and go-to musician Minister Davian Bailey provide the delicate but deft synth and horns. This is not the famous plainchant carol but a new composition by Pastor Anthony that evokes its minimalist ambience.
