Flow Records (2012)
A Gospel Music Workshop of America mainstay, Bishop Richard “Mr. Clean” White lifts a line from the church lexicon to express his testimony, traditional-style.
To an insistent and sassy rhythm, White channels an O’Neal Twin with his raspy voice as he shares how he was down and out, without a friend, and Jesus got him back on his feet.
He poses the story as a lesson to the audience, which clearly empathizes. The single is as fun and joyous as its subject matter.
