“Merry Christmas”
BJ Sam
(release date: June 14, 2022)
By Robert M. Marovich
During Christmas, “everywhere we go is joy and harmony.”
So sings international artist BJ Sam on his new holiday contribution, “Merry Christmas.” To make his point, he invites some 20 fellow creatives from around the world to join him in singing a few festive lyrics or be part of the band.
A repetitive melody is the vehicle for a passing parade of featured vocalists, including Bollywood star Jaspinder Narulak, Swiss singer Christina Zurbrugg, and Monaco international ballet star-singer Lorena Baricalla. They offer their Yuletide wishes in their native tongue. Among the musicians are Canadian drummer Chad Melchert and multi-instrumentalist Pierre Baillot. A truly global assembly with a truly global sound – quite distinctive and an admirable departure from the usual Christmas fare.
