“He’s a Rock”
Apostle Moses Adams & North Carolina Community Gospel Choir
Grantham World Media (release date: October 16, 2026)
By Robert M. Marovich
“He’s a Rock” is a new song with an old soul.
Led by Apostle Moses Adams, the single draws from the chorus of the spiritual “Jesus is a Rock in a Weary Land.” It features the North Carolina Community Gospel Choir in explosive bursts of harmonizing in response to Apostle Adams’s melismatic declarations. The best part of this track are the a cappella responses at the beginning, which put me in mind of O’Landa Draper and the Associates’ 1994 radio hit, “My Soul Doth Magnify the Lord.”
The North Carolina Community Gospel Choir is part of the Raleigh Eastern Area Chapter of the Gospel Music Workshop of America.
