“He Brought Me Out”
Quinten Simon
Independent (release date: January 20, 2023)

By Robert M. Marovich

Gospel vocalist Quinten Simon leads a hard-charging choir on a church wrecker called “He Brought Me Out.”

“Through dangers seen and unseen,” Simon sings, but he almost doesn’t have to sing anything, as the overdrive energy of the song communicates the unfettered joy of being under God’s protection. Nevertheless, the vamp finds Simon in full evangelist mode, shouting lyric lines about what God did as the choir handclaps and answers were “he brought me.”

“He Brought Me Out” is the title track of Simon’s new album. It’s all but guaranteed to empty the mourners’ bench.
