“Holy Hands”
DOE
A Life Room Label/RCA Inspiration (release date: September 22, 2023)

By Robert M. Marovich

Like her sometime collaborator, Jonathan McReynolds, singer-songwriter Dominique Jones (DOE) has refurbished the time-tested prayer room with the sounds of neo-soul and acoustic introspection.

So it is with her latest single, “Holy Hands,” though it has a more pronounced R&B vibe than some of her other selections. Contrasting with the smooth backdrop are the rat-a-tat-tat lyrics on the verses that are something of a DOE trademark. It’s a pleasant rumination on the power of praise and baptism to overcome earthly problems. DOE is a truly gifted singer and songwriter whose impact on the future of gospel music is profound.
