You might say that Grandpa Crunk (aka D.J. Seko VArner) is a line dance connoisseur. His first release was 2008’s The Hula Slide. The current release, “Electrified By Jesus,” is another line dance, but with a Christian foundation.

DJ Seko explains that “Electrified by Jesus” was birthed out of the 2004 Praise Parties events performed by Positive Vibes DJs. The events featured gospel music as a playlist and secular soul line dance songs to ensure that the partygoers had fun. To make it more interesting, DJ Seko began creating versions of songs such as “The Electric Slide” with Christian aspects mixed in the songs. Voila!

His “Electrified by Jesus” definitely riffs on the classic “Electric Slide,” complete with ’80s stepper vibe, but lead vocalist Tracy Clark’s directive is to “get your praise on.”
