“Amen Goes Right There”
Everett Drake
From the Dherico Music CD Amen Goes Right There (2011)
The soulful title track of Everett Drake’s debut solo album reflects on current social issues such as homelessness and sickness, and calls each of us to love one another and come together as “the greatest nation.”
Drake’s catch phrase, “Amen Goes Right There,” is both a head-shaking at the problems of the world and punctuation to emphasize the ways to make the globe a better place.
It is a fitting message to ponder today, the day after the 44th anniversary of the assassination of Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King.  If Dr. King were alive today, what might he say and do?
