“Get Up”
Batayah
From the album Simply Batayah
http://www.batayah.com/

Fueled by an insistent guitar/bass riff that sounds plucked from Chic’s “Le Freak” but cloaked overall in atmospheric neo-soul with a touch of house, “Get Up” implores the listener not to worry because God can do anything….so “serve Him today.”

The lovely Batayah’s latest single is an eminently danceable praise song.

Batayah is nominated in four categories in the upcoming 2012 Rhythm Of Gospel Awards, including Artist of the Year. Honoring the independent gospel artist, the Rhythm of Gospel Awards will be held July 28, 2012 in Jacksonville, Florida.

I love the song and her style. She’s classy but different and this is exactly what we need. I’m sure that there’s more to come because she has unspeakable fire and the drive!

I agree that Batayah is very lovely and very talented. It’s so wonderful to have an artist who dares to be different and have a different sound in the gospel arena as I understand that it takes guts and hard work, which in itself says alot about this artist. Keep up the good work little sister, we love you and your music ministry!
