Gospel singer Felicia Coleman-Evans is among the background vocalists on Psalmist Kina Butler’s dramatic single, “So Now’s My Moment.”
The song, warmly rendered, is an effusive affirmation of God’s unquestioned authority in one’s life. The lyrics and melody are biblical and complex, akin to a sacred show tune, and almost begs to be performed on stage or by a trio of praise dancers.
The song was composed by Pastor Kathy A.E. Jones, a fellow Chicagoan, whose new single, “Time Is Running Out,” has the same dramatic and fulsome lyricism, though with a more churchy and downhome message about getting one’s house in order (“Satan is knockin’ but I’m not stoppin’”).
Butler was featured as a new recording artist at Evangelist Lemmie Battle’s June 2012 birthday musical, hosted by Dr. Bobby Jones.
